Hey guys and gals
Our set list is growing very quickly, but we're running out of ideas for good covers to perform.
First, please go to:
http://twistedph8music.webs.com/playlist.htm
You'll see a representative list of tunes that cover what we play

We are looking for good covers for the female voice. As you see from our set list we are very diverse. I enjoy our 80s covers most, but we can't play those all day...well...we could but...

Do you guys have any girl band ideas that we should add to our pratice list. I didn't list Celine Dion or Christina Aguilera, but we have a couple of those too. Who else can you guys think of.

Hey Wolf,
Sight looks great! If you're wanting to flesh out your set list some more, why don't you do another song from each artist. You are covering artists that have several hit songs, especially your list from the 80's. When I was feeling in for a bar band years ago, they didn't cover any artist unless they could cover 2 songs from that artist. Their one exception was Cumbersome by Seven Mary Three, and when was the last time you heard that song on the radio. It keeps you from covering flash in the pan one hit wonders and instead playing songs that will stay in your set list for years. Just my humble opinion.

I answered a PM suggesting indirectly that way -- I made suggestions of bands / female singers mainly but not songs. I think those ladies from the 80s especially still on the road today with maybe less known but recents songs are worth to be covered. Maybe someone knows.. for me it would be some kind of research

Regards,

Reinhard

Thanks Sammy!
The list on the site is abbreviated. We do cover multiples of Joan, Pat, Martina, Sheryl and etc.....However there were two things we were concerned with.
1) We don't want to be trapped in a decade. We want to be sure we're diverse enough that, when we play out, everyone at a venue is happy and that we can custom cut our setlist for the venue
2) We don't want to be caught playing tons of songs from the same artist either.

And, of course, while trying to keep to the spirits of the songs, we are trying to do our own thing enough to make them unique and more fluent together so we're not just piecing together tunes with no direction or visualization.
Its such a tough thing, to build a balanced set list. Oye Vai!
The biggest help we need, oddly enough is music from the 90s. Its only my teenager years. Sheesh. It should be easy! But its hard. I feel like its either Mariah or Celine or TLC or Toni and, though we cover 1 or 2 Celines, the others are a little bit too out of our sound to really work. So I know I'm missing some....

Maybe this variant:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_R%26B

Search Wiki for music style and 1990s, Janet, Missy Elliot etc. I really don't know many names as my music interest concerning listening or even bying pop music was quite low at that time. Some music styles: Hip Hop ?, R&B, Indie Rock, Grunge, xxx Metal if you like it hard, Acid Jazz to just name a view.

Regards,

Reinhard

Okay Checkin out Nightwish.

They're pretty friggin cool....Where are they from? I definitely hear accents happening on them.

I wonder if I can swing Chrissy to the dark side for a band like this. Reminiscent of Evanescence a little....

I think Nightwish is from Finland. LOVE THEM! but I like Tarja (the old singer) better than the singer they have now.

Dust in the wind is a good song to cover. It's hard for some guys to sing because it has a higher range, but it would be great with a female singer! And of course, there is a great part to play on your Viper!
